Important Safety Information:
The sport of snow skiing is physically challenging, dangerous and potentially hazardous. You should be well aware that the sport itself and the use of all equipment associated with the sport involve inherent and other risks; injuries are a common occurrence. Risk of injury to the lower leg or knee can be further compounded by the ski, boot and binding system. This system will not release at all times, nor is it possible to predict every situation when it will release, even if that release would have prevented further injury or even death. As such the use of this system cannot guarantee safety nor remove the aspects of danger or hazard from the sport.
The DaleBoot has been designed and manufactured from only the highest quality plastics and materials; in no way is it a high maintenance boot. However, in order to prolong its life and your enjoyment, we recommend the following:
§ Your shells should be cleaned using soap and water only and dried with a towel, far away from any source of direct heat (ex: radiator, fireplace, oven, etc.)
§ Your liner, or inner boot, can be easily removed from the shell should it also need to dry. As with the shell, dry the liner far away from any source of direct heat
§ Your boots should be stored in a cool, dark, and dry location during the off-season. Please ensure they’re completely dry & moderately buckled prior to being stored in either a boot bag or plastic bag
Recommendations for Use:
The DaleBoot has been designed as a ski boot to be used specifically for the sport of snow skiing. For all other uses, such as walking, hiking, descending stairs, etc, there may exist further potential for injury if caution is not applied. We respectfully request you follow the following instructions with regards to the use of the DaleBoot:
§ Use only with compatible bindings (DIN, ISO, et. al.)
§ Use only with DaleBoot removable and cantable soles
§ Maintain the sole units to comply with the DIN specification
§ Replacement sole units are available upon request
§ The boot is not designed to be used without the DaleBoot sole units
§ Use of the boot without the sole units is dangerous, voids all warranties and removes all liability from the manufacturer
§ Always have a complete binding system adjustment made by a certified binding mechanic while either using a new ski boot with an older binding or at the beginning of each season
§ Should you have any questions at all regarding the condition of your DaleBoots, please have them inspected by an Authorized DaleBoot representative
§ Your DaleBoots should only be altered, modified, or repaired by an Authorized DaleBoot representative. Modification by an unauthorized source will most likely damage the boot’s fit, performance and safety while also voiding its warranty
§ Inspect your boots prior to every use to ensure the boot is complete in all its parts.
§ Remove all dirt or snow from the points of contact between the boot and the bindings, making sure to clean under the boot as well prior to stepping into the binding
§ Walk carefully on all slippery or wet surfaces
§ Transport your boots in a protective boot bag
The Skier’s Responsibility Code:
§ Always ski in control. Make sure you are able to stop to avoid other people or objects
§ People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them
§ Never stop where you obstruct a trail or are not visible from above
§ Look uphill and yield to others whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail
§ Always use devices to prevent runaway equipment
§ Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas
§ Make sure you know how to use the lifts. Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge to load, to ride, and to unload safely.
The Skier’s Responsibility is not limited to the above points. In addition, you should be in good physical condition, and you should never ski when you are tired, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
