What do we mean by “custom made” ski boots?2022-11-11T20:09:04+00:00
DaleBoot Four Models

DaleBoot Shells, left to right: VFF Pro, VFF, Gambit, Aufsteiger

DaleBoot has always been defined by our shells. We believe that properly fitted ski boots are by far your most important gear, yes, even more than your choice of skis. Instead of purchasing shells from manufacturers and fitting boots like other ski shops, we make our own. Each shell is made to order, in house, on a person to person basis. From there we add a custom-fitted footbed, an adjustable insole (a DaleBoot exclusive), and a specially contoured intuition or zipfit liner, all of which results in a ski boot designed specifically for you – comfortable and high performing, while eliminating the chance of an off-the-shelf boot-related injury.

Why don’t you provide prices for your ski boots?2022-07-08T14:27:37+00:00

Unlike off-the-shelf ski boots from other manufacturers, all DaleBoot ski boots are custom made, designed and fitted for optimal comfort and performance for each customer. Thus, DaleBoot prices can vary, as each shell offers a wide variety of options.

Why does DaleBoot use only 3 buckles?2022-08-02T21:12:11+00:00

The way we customize each shell to each individuals measurements, and the design of our 3-piece tongue system, makes using a fourth buckle unnecessary.

What is the largest size foot DaleBoot can accommodate?2022-08-02T21:09:35+00:00

Our largest size is a 32, which is equivalent to a men’s US size 15.

DaleBoot Liners: What’s the difference?2022-07-08T14:24:32+00:00

DaleBoot offers three types of liners.

Daleboot Liners

l to r: Zipfit, Heat Fit IV, Heat Fit IV Plush, Heat Fit Touring, Heat Fit Tongue

1. The Heat Fit IV Liner. Our Heat Fit IV Liner is pre-lasted to the DaleBoot shell during production. The Heat Fit IV consists of varying densities of multi-layered “intuition” cross-linked EVA to produce a fit unlike any other on the market the  to best accommodate the widest range of lower leg and foot sizes, dimensions, and volumes. In combination with the exclusive DaleBoot Three-Piece Tongue and Instep Closure System, the Heat Fit IV provides unparalleled ease of entry, fit, comfort, and performance.. The Heat Fit IV comes standard with the DaleBoot VFF and VFF PRO boots and is available in three distinct models, 1) Heat Fit IV, 2) Heat Fit IV Plush, and 3) Heat Fit Tongue. The Heat Fit IV liners have been designed to best accommodate the widest range of lower leg and foot sizes, dimensions, and volumes. In combination with the exclusive DaleBoot Three-Piece Tongue and Instep Closure System, the Heat Fit IV provides unparalleled ease of entry, fit, comfort, and performance.

2. The Heat Fit IV Touring Liner. New for this year, the Heat Fit IV Touring Liner comes standard in the New Daleboot Aufsteiger Alpine Touring boot. This liner has been developed specifically for the Aufsteiger allowing the best uphill and downhill performance and comfort on the market.

3. The Zipfit Liner. We are very excited to announce that we have partnered up with Zipfit to produce our highest performing, longest lasting liner, the Zipfit Liner. The liner comes standard in the DaleBoot Julian Carr Pro Model Gambit boot.  The Zipfit Liner has pockets of continuous moldable cork material that adapts to the skier’s ankles and shins. This material can be added if needed to take up more volume if necessary, giving the skier the best of both worlds, comfort plus performance.

How long does it take to make a DaleBoot?2022-07-08T14:20:53+00:00

Since each DaleBoot is made on a person to person basis, time can vary from a few days to a few weeks. But generally a two week timeline is a safe estimate.

Are DaleBoots warm?2022-08-02T21:06:47+00:00

Customers who have experienced cold feet from previous boots typically find DaleBoots extremely warm. The reason for this is we eliminate any pressure spots, and our boots support the foot eliminating any circulation or blood flow issues, thus keeping your feet warmer.

Do you sell replaceable soles for my DaleBoots?2022-12-06T13:41:15+00:00

Yes. Soles should definitely be replaced when they are no longer within DIN measurements 1) for proper binding release, and 2) to avoid injury – short and long term. Our Salt Lake City retail shop, in addition to other DaleBoot retail shops, has replaceable cantable soles that are available to you in either zero, one and a half and three-degree options, and are sold by the pair. You can remove and replace them yourself, or the staff in our DaleBoot shops in North America and Europe will be happy to install them for you, at no cost for the installation.
